Conor Comiskey from school Mhuire na mBuachaillí, Castleblayney won gold in the u-10 butterfly and silver in the freestyle at the All Ireland Championships in Leisureland
Salthill, Galway last weekend. His brother Matthew, swimming a year out of his age group came 10th overall which was also a great achievement and augurs well for next year. The boys school in Castleblayney are very proud of this wonderful achievement by these two students who were representing their school and province at these championships for Primary School children, and follows up on the medals won at the Ulster Championships.
This achievement is down to huge dedication from these two young stars and their parents Tony and Deirdre and coaches in the Slieve Beagh Swimming club. Getting up at five in the morning to do a two hour session before school, a number of times a week, requires a massive commitment from all concerned.
All the Staff and Boys of the Boys School in Castleblayney are justifiably very proud of the achievements of these two young swimmers.
